Torque Gloves
Torque Gloves
Built for high-end mixed climbing and gymnastic drytool routes, the Black Diamond Torque Glove features a super-sticky Slim-Stop palm and low-profile construction for unmatched grip and dexterity.
The softshell fabric protects your hands from the elements while remaining highly breathable, and the soft tricot lining adds just enough warmth for the WI5 dagger hanging above the crux. The TPU knuckle and thumb patch protects against wear and an ice tool specific, pre-curved fit provides a secure grip. Our innovative "seamless pinky" construction, where we've removed the seam on the pommel side of the pinky, increases the level of comfort when hanging on your tool.

Great for dry tooling. if the weather is too cold I go for the terminators
Using them for mountaineering and they are great. Good grip, and they kept my hand surprisingly warm.
While ice climbing this past season I tried all three (the Torque, Punishers and Terminators). While the Punishers have the coolest name of the bunch, the Torque gloves were by far my favorite. They are the lightest of the pair & provided me with the most dexterity. Because of this, I felt the least amount of pump with these gloves on. I also found them personally warm enough to climb in as long as your hands are already pre-warmed. These are now my go-to gloves.
For ice climbing they are remarkably warm, tight fitting so working gear is easy!
Sticky palms! Good for approaches and touring uphill. Fit is pretty standard.
Palms are unbelievably grippy on tools. Super nimble. Good warm temp glove
Great gloves! I almost forget I am weaing them. The slim profile let's the hand move with out restrictions, and the sticky palm feels good on the tools. They are not a very warm glove, but that is by design, they are geared towards dry tooling and ease of movement.
Warmer than you think, sticky as hell, don’t absorb water! Black diamond please do not change the design of these they are perfect
Only 4 starts because the durability remains to be seen. The palms are remarkably tacky providing awesome grip on an axe shaft. I've used them only a little while rock climbing and they worked very well. I wore them driving to a trailhead and had to take them off because they were so squeaky on the steering wheel, tacky indeed. They would not work on a phone screen - they fit great for climbing but are not easy on and off. So far, I like them.
Excellent for ice climbing in warmer temperatures

Such a sticky glove, I even use them from time to time on cold rock climbs. These gloves are the perfect match for aggressive tools, less aggressive tools you wish you could climb harder on, and holding onto wet hardware when it counts most. I would love a bit more durability so you could rap with them, but I get that these are purpose built to stick. Maybe add some of the sticky to the Punishers or some leather at the Torque's thumb web?
This has become my go to glove for dry tooling and mixed routes
Followed Colin's advice that these are the best gloves for alpine climbing. Extremely grippy and don't impede finger movement. Feels only slightly awkward when tieing boots, undoing lockers, and whatnot. Hands down best lightweight glove for mixed climbing, really glues your hands to the axe handles and performs well when you need to touch the rock directly. The palm is kinda fragile, don't rapel or belay with these as the rope will eat through the grippy texture (won't be doing that again).
Lightweight. The palm is very sticky. The gloves have a good fit without being too tight or too loose.
These gloves fit very well. I climb trees for a living & they work well in wet and light snowy conditions they grip my climbing rope well! very good climbing gloves Joe 🪓🌲
Little longer to break in but great gloves
Great fit, super waterproof
These gloves are definitely a great tool for the job. They fit nice and snug, seamless pinky is lovely, and outer material feels reliably grippy. Only real negative is they aren't the most comfortable on the inside. Once you're climbing though it's not really noticeable. I have a hard time getting the ideal fit in a glove, so I tried the Alpha SL from Arcteryx and it fits incredibly well. The torque's are definitely still a burlier, even more specific use-case glove. I'll probably stick to the alpha's for easier winter/alpine climbing/ski touring and use the torque's for harder ice/mixed/dry tooling.
I love these gloves. Warm, responsive, and sticky. I just wish they were waterproof!
Perfect for warm weather climbing
Gloves are stiff and tight Too tight in a medium for a consistent medium user.
I demand high performance from my gloves, especially when I am guiding! Great gloves.
Good gloves for rope work. Lots of dexterity and good grip in the palm. Do not think they would provide much warmth in the cold as you can hardly feel the insulation.
Used these for the OS route on The Grand in late Sept.
A bit tight around the fingers but are very grippy. Haven’t tried them in very cold weather yet so I’m not sure about the warmth
I use these for guiding in the European alps. I go through a pair a season (they don’t stand up to much rappeling or other abrasion) so try not to rap with them too much. Their strength is their dexterity and their adhesion to tools: that is hard to beat. The sizing has remained consistent over the years which is a plus too.
pretty comfy, fit well
Sticky palms, love that. Wish they fit my hands a little better, longer fingers
These gloves seem great upon initial review. I have not used them yet but I think they will be great for summer mountaineering. They fit perfect, I think they run a bit small though. I thought they would be more insulated but we will see how they do. Thanks BD.
They're warmer than they look and stay warm while wet, I got soaked in rainstorm while biking and my hands stayed pretty comfortable. Super light and the ergonomic shape makes them feel great on the hand, even thick meaty ones like mine.
Sticky gloves. Good for climbing.
Feels like they are glued to my hands.
Best I’ve climbing and dry tooling gloves ever.
Great mixed gloves
good technical gloves for your proj on ice
Great feel, great fit, great durability. Bought these for my trip to ouray ice park and loved how responsive these gloves were to rope work and screw placements while hanging onto the ice. My only critique was wishing they were a wee bit warmer. Being that it was in the 20’s (Fahrenheit) and the fact that you want colder temps for Ice climbing, my hands started going numb. They protected from the windchill fairly well, but if you’re like me and have hands and feet that run particularly cold, you may want to consider the next step up in this line for some added insulation as these gloves are basically durable liners
I used these for alpine and ice climbing this season in warmer days and they worked perfectly for me! I have really small hands and these actually fit me “like a glove. ” Kept my hands dry while remaining very tactile.
The fit and quality is amazing! Medium gloves fits both in this model and crack gloves. Very happy
These gloves perform great. Whether you’re ice climbing in munising or need a tough working glove to help put in a dock while the waters are still frigid— they’re easy to don/doff with the pull holes on the wrists and will Keep your hands warm even when submerged for hours.
