The key to my happiness
Durable and dependable
My favorite thing about this rope is how smooth it feeds through the atc and how well it slides through the hand when belaying. It makes it easier to control the rope.
Fantastic gym rope! This is my second one. Very durable. Can withstand many whippers.
Bought this recently for a shorter canyoneering rope for a trip down to zion. Worked well and was much lighter than my 70m
Perfect for sport climbing.
Bought this to replace the same exact rope that is ready to retire. Happy with it.
I've used the rope a few times now and i'm still alive! haha. I live in Chicago and bought this rope to use at Steelworkers park, which is a mere 10 m wall. I've been running two routes for my guests simultaneously, which takes up at most 45 m of the 60 m rope. The stretch is pretty good for soft catches, but not too stretchy where groundfalls become an issue. I will be using this rope for top rope at Devils Lake, WI once the weather clears up, super stoked.
I have loved using all of my black diamond gear! It is safe and effective!
As someone who goes through at least two ropes every year, this has become my go to rope for general use. Which includes, multi pitch Trad and Sport on basalt, granite, sandstone, Rhyolite and others. I also use it for light route development and maintenance as it’s fairly heavy duty and cost effective. The Pros and Cons; Pro: • It’s not stiff and has good feel right from the box. • It is not a rope that is prone to twisting so long as you break it in lightly before heavy use. • The price for quality is one of the better deals on the market. It’s not the most durable, but it’s not the most expensive either. • The performance is good, good elongation resulting in soft catches. • Its weight is decent for long approaches and a good choice for hard routes where a little more durability in the rope over sharp edges is desired. • I’ve never had the core separate from the sheath. Cons: •It’s not the most durable, but it’s not too far behind the beefiest ropes out there. You get maybe 3/4 the wear, but at 1/2 the price. • The middle marking is almost useless. The dark blue blends in with the black center mark making it nearly impossible to see after light use. •The sheath is easily damaged by ascenders and auto blocking devices with teeth. They chew through it pretty quickly. Not the best rope for bigwalls, or heavy use where a lot of hauling heavy loads and jugging may be involved.
Does what it says on the tin
Durable and looks great for an all-around rope. works perfectly in my GriGri and Neox belay devices.
Love it, slides like a blue snake
Incredible rope that everyone should seriously consider. Works great in my gym, or out on the crag. I climb top rope and lead, so can't comment on using it to trade. But I've got no complaints about how it performs in a variety of positions
Very pretty new rope, can't wait to use it
Great quality rope, 70m is a bit heafy but the ideal size. Dirt/dust shows up very easily.
Love this rope!
Excelente quality
Great rope. No complaints here. Shipped quick too.
Very long works well
rope has a super nice feel and is spongey, idk what else to say besides it hasn't broken yet i mean it's a rope
Rercently bought this rope for indor and outdoor climbing. Very happy with it, hopping for next trip to the rock.
Used it to work on my roof
The handling is good. It behaves predictably in an array of belay devices. I've used the rope in 60 and 70 meter lengths.
Feeds like very smoothly. Perfect length for my gym walls
A smooth and sturdy rope which works great for the gym(40m).
I've been purchasing this rope for my outdoor climbing program at the school, and it gets a lot of wear and abuse on our trips. I love how it handles in the birdie/grigri and it really holds up to a beating. A great all around rope for top rope/sport/ and trad.
Quality rope.
Doesn’t hold bends, has a middle of the rope marker and butterfly coils smoothly! Definitely a must have if you’re building a mountaineering kit.
I got this to use as I got back into lead climbing starting at the gym. It is super smooth and holding up great after 6 months of use. Doesn't get twisty and with the shorter length version it is nice and light when I bike to the gyml.
Perfect for winter indoor climbing
Great rope! Great customer service with very quick shipping!
This is the best, lightest rope we can find.
Great feel and great color to boot
Rope feels good and has distinct middle maker.
This is our first rope and so far it has not disappointed. Being new to climbing all I can tell you is it has helped up to the outdoor atmospheres great! It is rugged and has taken some abuse in the field and yet shows no wear. As with all Black Diamond equipment I have purchased it appears to be high quality and exactly what the product descriptions states. I’m would recommend these products for new climbers all around!
It was honestly overbuilt for what I bought it for. . . to have a primary safety for my less than 40kg littlest while doing via ferrata. Even when in a not ideal belay position, it still was smooth, and I felt quite confident keeping her safe. And although not completely needed for my older daughter, it was a nice psychologically when tackling dolomiten scree
Such a perfect rope for getting starting in any type of climbing. Took it this weekend with my girlfriend for her first time ever outside rock climbing, and worked like a dream! Great product for ice and rock, no problems at all!
This is a great rope whether you're at the crag or in the gym. Quality construction and would definitely recommend if you are looking to purchase as your first rope.
Great rope! Very resistant to abrasion and rough terrain.
